Deleting your Standing Tee account
How to have your Standing Tee account and personal data removed. Which route applies depends on whether you can still sign in — and there is a third case, for someone a league added who never signed in at all.
If you can sign in
Sign in and go to /leagues/account. The screen shows you what will be removed, what will stay behind in the leagues you played in, and what will happen to any league you run, before you confirm anything.
It takes effect immediately. It acts on the account you are signed in as, so there is nothing to fill in and no way to aim it at somebody else.
If you cannot sign in
Email support@standingtee.com and ask for your Standing Tee account and personal data to be deleted. We will reply within 30 days.
This route is for anyone who has uninstalled the app, or who has lost access to the Apple or Google account they signed in with. Tell us the email address you signed in with, or as much as you can about which league you played in — we may have to come back to you to check that the account is yours before we remove it, and we would rather do that than delete the wrong person’s golf.
If you were added to a league and never signed in
A league administrator can put a golfer on a roster — a name, a handicap identifier, scores — without that person ever opening Standing Tee. If that is you, then you do not have an account here to delete. There is no password, no sign-in of yours, and nothing on this site that would recognise you. We are telling you that plainly rather than sending you to a button that cannot help.
You still have a say in the record. Email support@standingtee.com with the name that appears on the roster and, if you know it, which league it is. What happens then is a person’s work rather than an automated one: we go to that league’s administrator, who can change or remove the roster entry. Because we have no way to authenticate you, we may need to confirm with them first — the same protection that stops somebody else asking us to erase you.
What deletion removes
Your account record — your name, email address and profile picture — and every sign-in token we hold, together with every session you have open. In each league, your display name is replaced with a placeholder and your GHIN number is removed, and the notes administrators wrote about your own cards and about the money of rounds you played in or paid into are erased, as are the reasons support recorded for changes to you, to those rounds, or to any card on them, yours or another golfer’s.
Your scores, handicap history and past settlements stay, attached to that placeholder, because they are part of what decided what everyone else in those rounds won or owed. The Privacy Policy sets all of this out in full, including the three kinds of written record a deletion does not reach, and what to do about them. First, another golfer’s returned-card reason that names you. Second, a note about you on a round you had no part in. Third, a support note or repair script that names you but was about neither you nor a round you were part of stays, and so does a repair script support ran that was not recorded against you. A support note or repair script that reached you only through something you were joined to after it was written — a place on a roster later linked to your account, or a round you joined later — stays as well, but only if that league is erased before you delete your account.
One thing the word “immediately” does not cover: a copy of the database is kept for 14 days. Your account is gone from the live service the moment you confirm, but a deletion is not fully complete until the last backup taken before it has expired.
Nor does it cover a scorecard photo already taken, whether you took it or appear on it. A photo is not removed early by deleting your account. The league’s administrators and scorers can still see it for up to 7 days after it was taken, and at the latest, our storage deletes it 8 days after it was taken, and it is never kept more than about 9 days.
